My Neighborhood

This is my neighborhood's landmark; the smoking shack chimney of Lindenwood Apartments. The apartments are declared "no smoking" except in this little enclosure outside. People refer to it by different names such as, "smoking gazebo" "the shack" or anything else involving the word smoke. The actual structure itself is not very lovely to look at, since it's old and falling apart, so I took a more detailed shot of its chimney.

Norman Jensen (51) of Albany stands next to one of his Jensen's Carpet Cleaning work vans after emptying the van's dirty water at the local water treatment plant. Starting his own company at age 20, Jensen is the first of four brothers to have a self-employed cleaning service in Oregon.

Kritsin Miller (10), Kayley Schmidt (9), Cierra Self (10) and Hannah Valesano (10) all of Albany play a game at North Albany Community Church's AWANA club gathering. AWANA is a regular activity in my neighborhood, meeting every Wednesday night for children ages five through 12th grade. I'm a leader for the 4th and 5th grade girls, helping them in Bible verse memorization and playing the games with them.
